I’m a freelance writer, editor, and consultant based in Washington, DC.

When not doing my own writing, I help other people write and edit books, papers, articles, or whatever content they need. I’ve worked with scholars, think tanks, development banks, aid organizations, and a range of other clients. My specialties are economics, public policy, and international development – but I always love learning something new.

Previously, I was an economist and senior advisor at the US Treasury Department for six years, focusing on international economics and development finance. I started my career in publishing, then helped establish the VAD Foundation – a nonprofit founded by former refugee Valentino Achak Deng and author Dave Eggers that runs education and community development programs in South Sudan.

I have a master’s in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, where I focused on political and economic development, and a bachelor’s from Stanford University, where I studied English and creative writing. After growing up in Colorado and California, I’m now based in DC’s Mt. Pleasant neighborhood with my wife and our two adorable kids.
